Air Cooler Working Principle

An air-cooled chiller operates according to the reverse Carnot cycle. Heat is transferred and dissipated by circulating the refrigerant through components such as the evaporator, compressor, condenser, and expansion valve. The refrigerant absorbs heat in the evaporator and evaporates. It is then drawn into the compressor and compressed into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas. It then releases heat and condenses back into a liquid in the condenser. Finally, the expansion valve reduces the pressure, and the refrigerant enters the evaporator, starting the cycle again.

 

During this process, the air-cooled chiller uses a fan to dissipate heat from the condenser to the atmosphere, achieving a cooling effect. This cooling method does not require a water source, making it suitable for areas with water shortages or poor water quality.
